On Sunday, June 4th, I had the blessing of joining the Rev. Daryl Schubert at New Home Lutheran Church for an 8:30 AM service and at St. Mary's Episcopal Church for a 10:30 service! Due to Fr. Daryl's retirement this summer, this would be the last time that he and I would be worshiping together in these two places.
At St. Mary's, we confirmed Alayna during a wonderful Trinity Sunday service, and had a great pot-luck meal afterwards with some time for Q&A. St. Mary's will soon embark on a search process, and we ask for everyone's prayers for them and for all congregations searching for new ministers.
We wish Fr. Daryl and his wife, Jane, all the best as they continue to prepare to move to Australia, where they will be living most of the year. It's been a joy to know both of them, and we are grateful to God for them!
